In Greene County district court Richard Allen Keller, 41, of Grand Junction was sentenced Aug. 29 to five years in prison with credit for time served after he pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary- third degree. The prison sentence is concurrent to the term in another Greene County case. Keller was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. Court costs were $373.19. Francisco Javier Andrade Rico, 36, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 7 to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail term were suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He may complete the Des Moines Area Community College weekend diversion program in lieu of jail. If he does not complete that program he must attend a community college drinking driver school. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Andrade Rico was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge. He must pay $579.68 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Hans Becker)
Michael S. Richards, 60, of Jefferson was sentenced Sept. 7 to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Blake Matthew Millard, 36, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; Gwendolyn Kissel, 18, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; Steven Darwin Meister, 58, of Woodward, operating while intoxicated- third offense; Hayley Lynn Brown, 29, of Jefferson, assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury assault on persons in certain occupations, interference with official acts causing bodily injury; and Cheyenne L. Johnson, 22, of Marshalltown, driving while license barred, identity theft less than $1,500, and forgery. Trial dates were set for Nov. 1 in every case.
A case was initiated Sept. 4 against Jose Martir Melendez, 46, of Des Moines, operating while intoxicated.
